Side channel compressors of highest quality
There are technologies wich are that good that they actually cannot be improved. For example side channel compressors by Elmo Rietschle. Since a lot of years they are on long-term work with our customers and prove their reliability day after day. They work virtually maintenance free and are thereby more quiet than almost every other vacuum pumps and compressors.
The blowers of these models are used for the conveyance of gases and gas-air mixtures.
Functional principle
The impeller in the G-series machines is mounted directly on the motor shaft for contact-free compression. Maximum operational reliability , even at high differential pressures, is ensured by the arrangement of the bearings outside the compression chamber. The gas is taken in through the inlet silencer (1). As it enters the side channel, the rotating impeller (3) imparts spiral velocity to the gas in the direction of rotation. Centrifugal force in the impeller blades accelerates the gas radially outwards and it is led back to the impeller at the inner wall of the side channel (2). With each re-entrance in the impeller kinetic energy is added to the gas along the side channel and the pressure increases. The side channel narrows at the rotor, sweeping the gas off the impeller blades and discharging it through the outlet silencer where it exits the pump (4).
